Amazon Heart was founded in 2004 by two young breast cancer survivors, Megan Dwyer and Meredith Campbell, to answer that question. Over the next 6 years Amazon Heart grew to become a global movement – with 200 breast cancer survivors, from 7 countries, taking part in 16 adventures on 4 continents, raising over $1 million for charities around the world. Along the way lives were changed, and our events contributed to understanding post-traumatic growth through research and peer reviewed publications.
Since 2010, Amazon Heart focused on broadening our reach through providing a How To Guide for organisations wishing to implement their own peer support adventures, and promoting our research findings. Our next adventure may be just around the corner!
